Project: Lattice

Located in the heart of Salt Lake City, a region known for its stunning mountainscapes and traditional housing accommodations, Lattice was originally a well-known local landmark hotel.  The design team was asked to transform the interior of the building into a multifamily facility featuring micro apartments, a first for the region.  The task was to retrofit a 300 sqft hotel room into a luxury apartment while providing supplemental amenity spaces that are evocative of a residents second home, just steps away.

To best provide the feeling of an alternate living experience within the same facility, the entirety of the top floor of the structure was cleared of obstructions and provided with a community kitchen, lounge, coworking spaces, conference room, fitness center, fireplaces and other community-oriented amenities.  The material palette offers soft, warm, comfort of home materials found in the region such as red rocks terra cotta, light wood floors inspired from the abundant pine and aspen trees, rich leathers, and the use of white, grey, and black paint colors that visually relate to the partially snow-covered mountains.
